How can we use the same data with multiple users?

There are different options to access your Tradumanager data with several users:

  1. Sharing your Access database file in a local network
After installing Tradumanager on your computer, you will find the database file in your installation directory (e.g. c:\tradumanager\). The database file is named tradumanager_database.accdb. You can move this file to any location - e.g. you could share it on a local network drive where several users can access it simultaneously. After moving the file, you just need to specifiy the new path in the Tradumanager connection settings on every computer that has Tradumanager installed and shall be able to access the data. To open these settings click on Connection settings in the Login form when you start the software.

  2. Sharing your Access database file in the cloud (e.g. Dropbox, Googe drive etc.)
After installing Tradumanager on your computer, you will find the database file in your installation directory (e.g. c:\tradumanager\). The database file is named tradumanager_database.accdb. If you wish to share your databasefile in a cloud solution, you need to make sure that your solution sopports automatic syncronization of your data. After moving your database file into your cloud directory you just need to specifiy the new path in the Tradumanager connection settings on every computer that has Tradumanager installed and shall be able to access the data. To open these settings click on Connection settings in the Login form when you start the software.

  3. Sharing data via MySQL database
Sharing data via a MySQL database is a very convenient way of collaboration. All you need is to host your database on your own server or on an external server that supports external ODBC access. Please check this with your MySQL hosting provider. If you wish to work with MySQL please download the Tradumanager for Agencies MySQL demo version. This will give you access to a demo MySQL database which can be access by anybody who installs the demo however. If you wish to have your own MySQL demo database for testing purposes please contact us. After setting up your database you just need to specifiy the database parameters (server, database name etc.) in the Tradumanager connection settings on every computer that has Tradumanager installed and shall be able to access the data. To open these settings click on Connection settings in the Login form when you start the software. Please contact us for help and advice if you wish to further understand or implement this option.
